Using Literacy Strategies to Support a Preservice Teacher Candidate in Becoming an Effective Teacher

This qualitative investigation used a case study approach to collect data answer this question: Did preservice teacher candidate enrolled in content literacy course while seeking initial middle-level certification find strategies useful the instruction of seventh-grade science students? reports findings collected from one candidate, along with peers, for instruction. Data collection included an interview, member checking, and observations. Over fifteen-week period undergraduate course, provided evidence that by students effective acquisition instructional content.
